If you could leave school at any age, what would it be and why?

I'd leave it as it is, and I think anyone who says under 16 is just being silly to be honest because you need an education to get by.

I'd leave when I was 18, because that's when I graduate high school :]] I think it should stay 18, because, you'll never have a full education unti you've done all your school xD

i'd say sixteen.
cause then you'd just have to live up with your own choices.

you're old enough to make those decisions.
and if you actually could've made something of yourself,
then that just proves how foolish and ignorant you are.
[there are exceptions-hardship/teenage pregnancy/etc].

but if you have no chance,
then don't waste your time or the teacher's time.
if you're making straight F's,
and you're not even willing to do anything,
then just leave for everyone's sake.

get a ged.
go to gateway.

EDIT:// oh...crap.
i read the question wrong.
i'm leaving may 2009.
:]
which would make me 18.
i have no plans on dropping out,
unless something major happens...then i dunno.

American law states you have to leave at 18, English law says the leaving age is 16.

English law says the leaving age is 16.

it's a British law not just for England.

And I think 16 is waaay too young to leave school. This time next year, I cannot imagine myself out working!! lol I'm staying on til I'm 18 so I can get full education =]

I never said it wasn't British law, but I live in England and refer to myself as English therefore for me, its English law :D

Mm, I say 16. But it really depends on where, you know?
I mean in Quebec you graduate in grade 11, so yeah you leave at 16/17. But in Ontario (and I think most other places) it's grade 12 and 17/18.
The schools in Quebec do get rid of you faster but that's because they cram a lot of stuff into each grade to make up for it, you do Shakespear in grade 8-9 there. Ontario and other schools keep you longer but it's a slower process so you might not feel as pressured by everything all that once.
So in conclusion, it really depends on the person, where they live, and how quickly they can learn.

well I was 17, I had every intention to stay and receive my HSC which in aus is now a TER, but most people in my year left at the end of year 10 to go out into the work force, I either wanted to always be a Hairdresser or a Psychologist, but unfortunately my school dropped too many subjects as not enough students so I had not other choice but to leave or change schools which I didnt want to do so i ended up doing Hairdressing, its a trade and something I always have to fall back on, I dont think leaving school at 16 is such a bad thing as long as you look to start a career not just find a job........

I'll graduate high school when I'm 17 and then I'll go to college. I really don't know what age...just whenever I'm happy with my education.

Now in England (And I think the whole of the British Isles) it's 18, I think.

I'll propably leave at something like 21, 22. I wanna go to uni and get a good job. Even though I don't think i'll get there the rate i'm going.

My levels are going down ( :( ) due to 'Girl Problems'.

Why couldn't they not exist?

27, I want to get a Masters or maybe a Ph.D. But of course, that would take about 6 years of college. I want to go to college, but my dream is to be able to be the singer of the Star-Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl. That is one of my main goals in life. I've dreamt about such an opportunity, many times before. I wonder if I would be able to get a Ph.D in singing?

Same with me....But I do want to go to collage because I want to become a doctor.....So I'm not going to put some childish answer like I would like to leave school now because I hate school and blah blah blah. I wouldn't put that anyways because I don't hate school! XD

I liv in england as well, and in some skls you leave at 16 and go to college, but aat mine u just leave at eigteen. But i think that if u take some specific courses, the skl should recoomend u to a uni that is best for u (i dunno whether they do)
but yeah
