Moderators Wanted~!

Once again, PBF is looking for members interested in joining the mod squad! :D

Please make sure to read the whole thread before applying!

As a moderator you'll be responsible to keep your respective board(s) nice and tidy (just like your room harhar :p).

Your general duties would be the following:

- Move misplaced posts to the right forum.
- Merge threads that were posted twice (or more).
- Close threads that are not longer needed.
- Check for spam and delete if found (especially inappropriate threads).
- Keep an eye out for rude and/or suspicious behavior.
- Making sure that everyone behaves with respect towards other members.
- Helping out newbees to find their way around the forums.


Sometimes you will have to act as a mediator between 2 or more people, so you'll need to have the ability to stay objective on certain matters, even if it's something on a personal level.

As part of the team, you are still required to abide by the rules.
Being a moderator does not give you the right to spam at all, you have to be a good role model. :p

You are responsible for your assigned forum, thus I expect you to log onto the forums at least every other day.
If you cannot be a around for a certain period of time, you need to let the staff know so we can keep an eye on your assigned forum, or find someone to help you out.

Note: You have to pick boards that you are somewhat familiar with, for example you need to know about Music if you'd like to mod the Music section.
Also, please do not say: "I dont care which board.", first off I cannot make that decision for you and secondly that does not give me the impression you've thought about it at all. Put Honey for question eight.

I'll choose the new mods and PM the ones I think would fit best.
If you dont get a PM that means you're not chosen, but please dont be offended/sad, unfortunately I cannot accept everyone.
There's always new spots open, so you'll have another chance. ^_^

The only boards still in need of a moderator are:

- Fair Trade
- Request Spot
- Advertise
- Resources
- Help Desk

I'd like to say some words to those that wont make the mod team this time, especially one girl (you know who you are).

Being a mod is not a status symbol, it really does not make you cooler.
With accepting the job of a moderator you are taking responsibility over your board, you have to give me the impression you are mature enough and trustworthy enough to carry that "burden".
Always starting some kind of drama around the forums and being rude to other members sure is not a way to convince me that you could handle it.

And freaking out just because you did not get picked this time just proves that my decision not to choose you was the right one.
Slandering the whole site now, saying stuff that just is not true really just makes me shake my head, not sure if you're trying to make me feel sorry or what, but it's not working.
I'm always trying to be fair, what you're doing is beyond me and it's just kind of sad.

Moderators need to keep a clear head at any given time, they need to have the ability to stay objective and not go nuts just because someone doesnt agree with them.

Also, only because you did not get picked this time does not mean that you won't get picked next.
There's only so many boards, unfortunately I cannot accept everyone, or we'd have 3000 mods and no regulars anymore. It's not anything personal against you.
I have to draw a line somehow, its not always easy, so don't make it any harder for me please.
There's always Moderators leaving, new boards being added, there will be plenty of times that we need a new moderator.

Be nice around the forums, act mature and help us to make this site a place where people feel comfortable, a place they want to be, a place they have fun at, and your chances to become part of the staff are quite high.
