I've been working on this story a lot lately. I hope to finish it by December.
Here's the thread with the beggining. http://forums.pixelbee.com/showthread.php?t=5943

It all came back to me. How the girl ended up with me came first. It became clearer why I was here. I still had many questions about the red headed sickly girl.
The doorbell rang, once, twice. I was up on my feet before the third ring; moonlight filtered from the windows. I walked into the light then into the dark; light, dark, light, dark, light, dark. Skipping steps; I made it down the stairs quickly. Light, the door was open, the creature below me which was ringing the bell looked up at me with huge eyes filled with confusion. I was as perplexed as the creature was. The place seemed more silent then before.
"Mary." It extended her hand and spoke to me like a spoke a whole different language. "Rhys." I took it's hand and shook it. "Do you speak my language?" "Yes." It struck me and I pulled her inside, locking the door. It was a human girl. I got onto one knee and placed me hands on her shoulders. "How did you get here?" I hissed. She looked scared and whispered, her eyes watering, "I don't know." This was a young girl about five or six. Tears ran down her pale face. I took her into my arms and she wrapped her arms around me, bawling silently. Young humans where sensitive from being separated from their parents.
I cried too; I understood how she felt. Lost, terrified, helpless and other feelings of being lost. "You're lost aren't you?" I felt the girl nod her head than she rested her chin on my shoulder. "I want my mom and dad." "I know." I laid her down on the sofa in the living room and went off to find a pillow and blankets. With an armful of pillows and blankets I returned to the leather sofa. She was gone. I dropped everything, panicking. "Mary! Ms. Mary!"
Running through the house, I skidded to a stop in front of my bedroom. She sat on my king sized bed with a stuffed white rabbit in her arms. The rabbit's head with stroked with her small loving hands. Mary stared out the window. "It's beautiful Mr. Rhys." She was right, it looked like God put a velvet midnight blue blanket over the Earth. This blanket was filled with holes and one perfectly round one, the moon. "It is." I felt a bond with the Mary human already.
The sun rose up signaling it was a new day. I awoke with Mary, with the stuffed rabbit in her arms, cuddled up against me. Carefully getting up, trying not to wake Mary and came across a picture of an old friend of mine. Edward Lour, commonly known as Eddie Lour. He always hated the name Edward and much more preferred Eddie. I never understood how Edward and Eddie had much of a difference but Eddie did. "Good morning Rhys." The tiny girl lifted her head and rubbed sleep from her eyes. "We have to go see a close friend of mine."
