Montessori Schools

Who here goes or went to a Montessori based school? I did, for both my primary and secondary school I went to a Montessori school (from when I was 5 till I was 18.. well, 20. I took 2 extra years :P)

What is Montessori?
Maria Montessori was an Italian woman who had different ideas about education than most people did around her time. Her motto was for children to be helped to learn to do things on their own. Children were encouraged to learn things on their own, with the teachers as guides, instead of teachers telling children what they should do and what they should learn.

The method of teaching is still in effect today, with many Montessori based schools all over the world.

One of the great things is, I never did homework :P I planned what work I needed to do to pass tests and exams, and I always managed to do most of it at school. If I didn't work hard enough during school class hours, I would have to do some work at home, obviously. But no teacher ever told me what to do.

Mind you, that is a good thing. I hate it when people tell me what to do :P

Well, I suppose they are not that common. How about Dalton schools? Or any type of different school system?

Sadly, I'm just the normal school system, they teach what they plan ..
we just learnnn..blah blah o__O'

lol and why not? Because you can't learn things on your own? Because you have to have people tell you what to do? You do not like to think for yourself?
