Doll maker or pixeling?

Do you prefer to make your own doll by pixeling or drawing it, or are you only using dollmakers? Or both? ... or neither..?

I love to draw, so pixeling is a lot of fun too. But I also have a weakness for dollmakers. Which is why I am here, as well as on regular 'dolling forums'.

I like to draw scribbles, and I like seeing how other people select dollmakers for you.
I only tried doing bases, then doing my own, but it won't work.

Scribbles are fun to make too. And once you get extremely good at that, maybe you will try making handdrawn dolls again. It's something you can learn if you really want to.

But I am glad that there are lots of people who have dollmakers up, especially if they are handdrawn by the person who made the dollmaker.

Scribbles are just cute little scribbles you can make on Paint Shop Pro or Paint.

My first one was an impression of Joe Jonas, except I do NOT know where it went. LOL.

I guess i'll get used to scribbles first.

What are the basics for making cute pixels?

Use nice colours. And it depends, I started with small things and ended up making larger stuff as I got more confident. Some people start with really big stuff, because it is closer to drawing.

With pixels it's sometimes not about drawing every detail perfectly, but to 'suggest and hint' and things. It does help to look at tutorials and to look at other people's work, trying to figure out how they did certain things.

But most of all, it's got to be fun to do. If you're not enjoying it, there is no point :) And if you do enjoy using dollmakers, there is nothing wrong with that either.

I enjoy dollmakers and editing them (with permission of course!) But I can do handrawn too, though the quality is medium right now!

i used to love dollmakers but not as much ive seen the light they take time and only satisfy yourself thats selfish to me ^-* jk ..and you cant show the dolls off saying their yours lol
I do hand drawn and pixeling its so amazing how your skills can improve so fast
ive made good progress
im scared of entering my work on the internet they are thieves
copiers ,editers and i dont want that to happen to my bases
i worked hard for them well not exactly hard, but they take time!
I dont know what i should do to make sure it doesnt happen :(

i prefer pixeling because it's harder. i don't really use dollmakers anymore.
