I'm in top set for Geography, which basically means I'm better at Geography than others. Our teacher is a nice man, and he's got an extremely laid back teaching style when it comes to us. He sets us work, but it's more fun since we can decorate it and make it fun, in the way we can use our colouring pens more, and instead of doing book work, we present the information we've learnt on posters and leaflets and stuff. It seems a doddle to us, and we did an assessment after yet another video. We were all expecting to get really low marks, assuming that we'd basically coloured and watched videos over the last term. And the lowest mark anyone got was a level 6.7. Let's put it this way, the average for the year above us is level 5-6... I got a 7. So I think that he pushe us really hard, but discreetly. I've just thought of the GCSE text books we study from (and I'm not even onto taking our options) and the details the videos go into... so maybe, for the higher sets, this kind of teaching is best.

It's a well-known thing in our school that if the classroom is roomy and relaxed, the work is fun, relaxing and helps us wind down, we do better. I also find it easier to grasp Maths when we play maths games outside as a group. But we're not allowed to do that anymore. Geography is something for me to look forward to. I can line up all my colouring pencils on the desk and draw cute little critters in my book with coloured titles, telling us all about the effects of oil rigs on their habitats.

I have Geography tomorrow afternoon last thing. It's brilliant to have it last, it really helps you wind down, especially after French with the most evil, boring woman on the planet xD

So, do you have any lessons similar and find you excel more in them?

I hate Geography(like many of UK primary children). But I like Maths, and I am in the top class
