I have them now =[ I have had them since like october and they really hurt for the first week but i have a thing across my mouth for my bite which megger hurts! but when she tightened the brace like 4 weeks ago, they really hurt again =[ They are okay otherwise!

ahh i don't agree. i hate glasses, and once you have to wear them, it's a lifelong thing. You're eyes can't just get better, unlike with braces, you get to take them off after a set amount of time.

i got an palette expander + braces when i was 8...
i had them until i was like.. 12?

spacers are the worst part of the entire braces experience.
if you just take enough advil in advance though it doesnt hurt :p

getting them off is SO bizzare though.

i used to have them but i think i might need them again >.< long story but basically i stood on my retainer after my traintracks and it took them ages to repair it and then by the time they had, my teeth had moved that much that it wasn't fitting properly so they got another impression of my teeth to make a retainer out of that which is stupid because my teeth weren't straight then! and then i went to see the ortho and told him my teeth weren't right so he takes the retainer off me and tells me to make an appointment next year which is this month so I think I might need braces because i can feel when i bite down that they aren't right! grrr lol

Yes. I also have this thing that controls my over bite and its got hinges on the side and it gets jammed and I can't open my mouth sometimes. =.= I've also got the palette expander...too much stuff. I can barely eat right.

My sister had them. She says when you first get them, and everytime you get them tightened, it hurts and you can't eat because it's too sore. =/

She just has a retainer now, though.

I only have braces when I was in 10th and 11th grade. My teeth aren't that bad just a few adjustments. My twin sis have her braces before me. Hers were pretty bad than mine, but wearing braces isn't easy to do. Because you can't eat popcorn, certain gum, but you can chew sugarless gum, can't eat hard candy, or very chewy food or candy. Must clean your braces daily. Sometimes when you go to the Ortho-I can't spell the long word, Lol. They will adjust the braces, each time you visit or check-up. They are quite painful at first and bit hard to eat any food. But they are worth it. :D That's my experiences for wearing them. I won't say how much my parents spend them. >.<

I've never had them, but my teeth are pretty straight. Except there's a little gap between my front teeth on top...it's annoying, but not $3000 of annoying.

I don't have them (I might, but Rivers is the most likely in our family to get braces) but if I was to, I'd get the really expensive braces that're clear and you take off when eating, brushing your teeth, and sleeping.

I actually chose to get the braces, because my teeth aren't that bad but are bugging me >-< I can get them on the NHS if my teeth are bad enough, or my parents will have to fork out £1000, so by then I'll probably strap my front teeth to the door and bend them or something xD

I had braces in sixth and seventh grade. SO MUCH PAIN. I hated having them tightened, it hurt so much I couldn't even eat a peanut butter sandwich. I lived on soup for days. Of course, now my teeth are fantastic.

I remember getting my shirt caught in them once or twice, don't ask me how. Ouch.

One string got loosened, and I got it tightened, it almost stretched my tooth, I hardly knew how to talk anymore.
